Tonfa

Tonfa/Tongfa is another double weapon, as well as another weapon that originated from farm implements that fit into the sides of millstones. Good weapon for hard blocking, elbows, chopping and spear hand type movements.

Tonfa is mostly known as a weapon from the Okinawa islands when Japan had banned the traditional weaponry. Other beliefs are that it has deeper roots back to the mainland of China. Our practice of the Tonfa is based on the Okinawa methods.

*REMEMBER THESE METHODS ARE TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF WHAT THE TRAINING IS LIKE AND A REFERENCE FOR STUDENTS AND NOT TO ACT AS A TRAINING TOOL.
