TIGERKenpo & The Five Animalsclick here for Kenpo Kung Fu Belts No matter what animal you best represent or which training you prefer there is something about the tiger that places a high amount of gratitude towards. Maybe the beauty or exoticness of the animal or its enormous amount of strength and power creates an awe of mysticism about it. This is one of my favorite animals to teach due to the dynamic strength it represents and reputation it upholds. It is an animal that turns defense into offense and fear into fierceness that never scares away but shows angry eyes.
The tiger’s spirit uncovers his powerful force, teaching us that once determination sets in execution is carried out. Never hesitate, you only have one chance. The tiger shows an air of awe in an inspiring dignity. Just Look at those eyes! Kenpo Kung Fu tiger training develops endurance and stamina. This animal has of the most drill training other than leopard and crane would follow afterwards. Teaching powerful bone crushing techniques and an exhausting form that takes plenty of amps called “Tiger Coming Out of the Cave.” Drills also consist of clawing, gripping, ripping hand strength to increase hand’s strength for chin na and striking. Sand striking and sand bag tossing are a must to develop hand strength as well. There are a mince amount of coordination drills to develop that hand and eye coordination for quick reaction in which reaction drills are a segment of this also. Tiger is taught while you are a 2nd brown working for 3rd degree brown (2nd Pai Hong). NOTE: One should not attempt any of the Five Animal exercises without proper supervision of a trained specialist. Click on the links below for more information on each of the Five Animals.
