TAI CHI PHASE 3

Tai Chi Phase 3 touches back on the physical movements more. This is the more traditional of the phases taught and most difficult.

We teach the 108 movement Barehand Sequence which takes 15 minutes to perform if done with proper breathing and chi circulation.

The “pushing hands” techniques are also taught in Phase 3 so you can flow back and forth redirecting the other’s movement.

The Tai Chi narrow blade form is also taught at this level. At this point one has developed enough energy to properly control the wobbly spring steel blade.

To understand this, hold a piece of notebook or typing paper just by the very corner. Watch how the paper falls at the other end. Now through practice, whip the paper to where your energy is expanded into the paper and just by holding the corner the whole paper is straight as if it were laying on a desk. Now imagine this on a 3-7 pound sword.

Techniques are also taught for the Tai Chi sword as well.
