The leopard is another cat animal that differs from the tiger in many aspects. Not as anticipated but rather respectfully appreciated when training for this animal.

The leopard is a cruel, cunning fighter that uses lightning fast action and swift flexible powerful motions. A very agile animal utilizing speed more than power and low techniques for quick overpowering that thinks strategy before attacking. Every move surprises your opponent and every strike weakens their spirit. Leopard teaches us to think ahead of time with a quick back up and to plan using good strategy.

Kenpo Kung Fu training in leopard trains for fast, swift and agile moving techniques along tendons and muscles. Through leopard you also learn a very quick moving form that utilizes speed and swiftness called “Leopard Attacks the Village.”

Speed drills are of the biggest tools used to develop this animal so we can develop our speed muscles for faster striking. Hand and coordination drills are utilized as well. Panther crawling is vital for that low strength. Evasive movements are vital footwork for this animal since it prefers maneuverability around a target unlike the strong standing your ground tiger. Evasive work helps swiftness the attacks and promotes light footed stepping.   Leopard is taught while you are 3rd brown working for your 4th degree brown (1st Pai Hong).

NOTE: One should not attempt any of the Five Animal exercises without proper supervision of a trained specialist.
