HEALTHY EATING AND THE MARTIAL ARTS - page 1 A healthy diet may increase life & enhance overall quality of life. Congratulations on your next step to further achievement!! The following is to act as guidelines to take what you need and omit what you don’t wish to use. However, in order for this to work, this is not a short time goal. You must make it a lifestyle from this day forth for the rest of your life as a martial artist and human being. And of course, always meet with your doctor before initiating a change if your daily diet. This information is not intended to take the advice of your doctor, rather a pattern to accomplish a healthy daily diet. First, I think it is important that you know a little information about the instructor that is preparing this. When starting martial arts I wasn’t exactly “black belt” material. It took a lot of work and dedication to get me where I am today. I started martial arts at a very young age studying in many fields; Chinese Kenpo, Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, Combat Aikido/Jujitsu//Judo, Tai Chi, American Kenpo and a bit of Muay Thai. My main art is Chinese Kenpo; the rest just benefit my abilities in the arts by finding the essence behind those arts and adapting it to my way. I am currently pursuing college to obtain a degree in sports training/physical training. No matter how long a degree takes, advancement in classes equals advancement in life. For the most part my beloved wife and I are what many have coined as Flexatarians - not exactly vegetarian, but leaning towards that mark. We do not eat land animal meats, but we eat fish. For dairy purposes, we drink soy but will eat foods that have been baked with real milk. We eat cheese rarely.
We enjoy our fish grilled. Fish is very beneficial to a diet and provides combatants to certain illnesses. Besides that, our savior Jesus ate fish and well if He did, you can’t go wrong in following the most admirable existence there has been on earth. I don’t push religion in class but most students know my firm belief in God. Every one in life is equal and no one should ever be judged. My arms are open to every walk of life. If everyone was the same it would be quite a boring place to live. Diversity brings great attributes to all aspects of life. In addition, vegetables are a must in our diet as well as fruits. For energy and strength we like soy milk protein and cereal grains or tofu. Click Here to View: An example of a week’s menu that Sifu Cheyenne Bowers eats.
