Dividing the Muscle (fen gin) Dividing the muscle chin na training is fairly self explanatory. This is done to where the nerves and muscles are under pressure, causing pain and possible unconsciousness. All the nerves and muscles running along the body are vulnerable to being separated from the bone during fighting; some are more painful and dangerous than others. This is done by grabbing the muscle tightly and ripping it away like a leopard tearing the flesh. In some cases what would look like a wrist lock is actually a dividing the muscle because of the strain on the forearm muscles and not so much the wrist bones. These methods can be used for aid during grappling or being locked up to help distract their mind away for a release or counter. In turn they can be used offensively in between striking for clearing an opening or enhancing the control of an attacker without striking. In a few cases you might have relative to this is called “grabbing bones” where you grab the thinner more vulnerable bones like the collar bone for an example that doesn’t take much to break or hurt.
